Blow

Mommy blow he says holding up a quarter piece of his grilled cheese sandwich. He asks me as if the power of my breath alone can cool the hot slices of bread and melted cheese that I just removed from the fry pan. As if my exhale is more powerful then time.

But he doesn't want to wait. He wants me.

So I blow.

  1. Must be like kissing a booboo, Mommies always make it better.

  2. Sometimes my son insists that I blow even when something isn't hot. And just for a moment, my breath almost is like magic. :)

  3. I'm in love with your writing and stories.

My daughter isn't talking yet, but she'll gingerly touch "hot" items, shake her hand up and down and will blow at me to request some cooling power.
